1. How can exhibitors share their news with the media?
ACMG offers several ways that exhibitors at the ACMG Annual Meeting can distribute their news releases to reporters. First, all exhibitors are invited to post their news releases related to the Meeting AT NO CHARGE on the ACMG Meeting website online pressroom. While ACMG cannot and does not endorse any product or company, we are happy to provide this forum for registered exhibitors to share news directly with interested media.
Secondly, exhibitors are also invited to drop off copies of their news releases or press kits to the Press Room onsite at the Annual Meeting. The Press Room will be located in the Tampa Convention Center.
Thirdly, we encourage you to tweet using #ACMGMtg16 because a number of media are following that feed.
2. Do you give out contact information of registered media?
While we do not give out or sell the contact information for reporters, we are happy to invite any exhibitor to leave news releases and press kits in the onsite Press Room for reporters to peruse. Registered reporters can then choose which exhibitors they would like to contact.
3. Are posters, papers and studies embargoed?
Yes, all scientific and educational sessions posters are strictly embargoed until the date and time of the presentation at the ACMG annual meeting. Posters are embargoed until the first day of the Meeting. News releases about research, studies, posters and other related information should state that the information was “presented at the 2016 American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting.”
4. I am a reporter – how can I register for the ACMG Annual Meeting?
Official health, science, medical and genetics media on assignment are invited to register for the ACMG Annual Meeting on a complimentary basis. Media registration will open in early 2016. Reporters must provide proof of verifiable media credentials and be on assignment.
