As of January 28, 2008 – the ACMG hotel room blocks are full at the Hyatt Regency (original contracted hotel) and the Wyndham Phoenix and the Hotel San Carlos (two additional properties secured by ACMG when reservation numbers climbed). As indicated in ACMG materials, the hotel blocks for the ACMG Annual Meeting do frequently sell out prior to the published cut off dates, and if that should occur – reservations are accepted on a space-and-rate available basis and may not be offered at the discounted group rate.
While there are typically cancellations at all the hotels (usually about 20% of the reservations made prior to the cut off are cancelled within the three week period prior to the meeting) they will no longer be at the ACMG discounted rate. We do suggest that you contact the various hotels prior to the various cut off dates (February 1 for the Hyatt, February 15 for the Wyndham and February 8 for the Hotel San Carlos) and if they have received cancellations, they will then have availability.
If you are unable to make a reservation at any of the ACMG hotels (either at the discounted rate, or their current rate), we recommend checking the Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau site for other hotels in the area - http://www.visitphoenix.com/. March is peak season in Phoenix and rates may be high and availability scarce so we urge you to make hotel arrangements at your earliest convenience if you have not already done so.
