About the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting
The
ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting is relevant to professionals in
medical and clinical genetics who are providing comprehensive
diagnostic, management and genetic counseling services for patients
with, or at risk for, genetically influenced health problems;
laboratory directors and technicians providing genetic testing;
researchers involved in the discovery of genetic disorders and
treatments; and all other healthcare and public health professionals
with an interest in the rapidly evolving field of medical genetics and
its integration into healthcare. The Program Committee has developed an
exceptional program that includes plenary and invited sessions
presented by world-renowned physicians, scientists and genetic
counselors, along with platform and poster presentations of selected
submitted abstracts, and an exhibit hall featuring products and
services utilized by genetics professionals in their practice and
continuing education.
2008 ACMG Meeting Destination
Phoenix
is an exciting new destination for ACMG! ACMG meeting attendees will
find everything from fine dining to exhilarating adventure,
breath-taking desert scenery, trendy shopping, modern nightlife and
enriching culture. With more than 325 days of annual sunshine and an
average March temperature of 75 degrees it is all an unbeatable
combination that can't be missed!
One of the newest additions to the recent developments and major projects in downtown Phoenix is the newly expanded Phoenix Convention Center. The ACMG meeting will be held in the newly opened West Building which is directly across the street from the Headquarter Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Phoenix (where some sessions and meetings will also be held.)

90 blocks of urban lifestyle, attractions and business in the heart of
Phoenix. Copper Square will provide attendees a environment – from 90
restaurants, bars and markets to museums, live theater and music events

ACMG Annual Meeting Opening Reception
A favorite event for all attendees, the Opening Reception is the chance to connect with old friends and colleagues, meet new people and get an advance look at the Exhibits and interact with the vendors in a more casual atmosphere. All registrants and their registered guests are invited to attend (badge required for entry.) Great food, beverages and a festive atmosphere make this event one you won't want to miss!
ACMG Membership/Business Meeting
All ACMG members are urged to attend the Membership/Business Meeting that will be held Friday, March 14 from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm to hear about the College's initiatives, Committee Reports and other timely information about ACMG. (This is an ACMG Member ONLY event.)
Meeting Dress and Session Protocol
Appropriate dress for the meeting is business casual. A light jacket or sweater is recommended as meeting rooms may be cool.
Badges will be required for entry into all sessions and events. Children are not permitted in educational sessions, and children under 12 are not allowed into the Exhibit Hall.
Weather
Phoenix boasts they enjoy 325 days of annual sunshine and an average March temperature of 75 degrees. However desert temperatures in the evening can drop to lows of about 51 degrees, so be sure to pack accordingly!
