Neurology: Genetics is an official journal of the American Academy of Neurology and the newest journal in the Neurology® family. As an open access, online-only publication, its content is freely available worldwide with an average of 23 days from acceptance to publication. Neurology: Genetics publishes high quality original contributions that elucidate the role of genetic and epigenetic variations in diseases and biological traits of the central and peripheral nervous system. The journal publishes original articles in all areas of neurogenetics including rare and common genetic variation, genotype-phenotype correlations, outlier phenotypes as a result of mutations in known disease genes, and genetic variations with a putative link to diseases. Articles include studies reporting on genetic disease risk, pharmacogenomics, and results of gene-based clinical trials (viral, ASO, etc.). Genetically engineered model systems are not a primary focus of Neurology® Genetics, but studies using model systems for treatment trials, including well-powered studies reporting negative results, are welcome. Each issue also contains invited review articles, editorial commentaries, and reader correspondence.
Neurology: Genetics content is indexed in PubMed Central®, Scopus, EMBASE, Google Scholar, DOAJ, CrossRef and Emerging Sources Citation Index.
