PLUGS is leading insurance alignment efforts to improve access & coverage for medically appropriate genetic tests for patients. Our exome sequencing and mitochondrial testing policies are ensuring coverage for >19 million patients nationwide. We are actively developing additional policies.
PLUGS is also leading the following initiatives: 1) Lab stewardship program guidance & education, 2) Case management of genetic tests in partnership with MetisGenetics, and 3) Stewardship standards developed by the National Committee for Laboratory Stewardship (NCLS).
