CAP Molecular/Cytogenetics Inspector Training Seminar

12 Mar 2024
Venue: Delta
Meeting Room: Kensington Ballroom

In collaboration with American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has developed an accreditation program specifically designed for the unique needs of molecular and cytogenetic laboratory inspectors.

The purpose of this seminar is to demonstrate effective inspecting techniques so that inspectors will be more confident and comfortable performing inspections. Specific topics include the overall inspection process (eg, preparation, practical “how to” tips of conducting the inspection, and documenting the findings), presummation/summation conferences, as well as determining compliance with not only the accreditation requirements unique to molecular pathology and cytogenetics, but also the applicable requirements from the Laboratory General checklist. The session will include recommendations for conducting the inspection of laboratories using the Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics Checklists.
