Early Career Genetic Mentor Luncheon

The goal of this session is to provide an opportunity for students and trainees interested in the field of medical genetics to meet and talk informally with ACMG members about career options, goals, and professional opportunities. Mentors will come from varying genetic subspecialties including clinical genetics, prenatal genetics, cancer genetics, biochemical genetics, and lab genetics. There will also be opportunity to speak with members who have had shared experiences of being international graduates, who have a special interest in teaching and academic medicine, or who are involved in multidisciplinary clinics, to name a few.
Participants will be able to pick a table with the specialty of choice and will be able to switch tables half way through lunch.
Pre-registration is required.

- Recognize the different career paths in medical genetics and genomics
- Identify opportunities to shadow, network or engage with a variety of medical genetics professionals
