I am in my last year of a Medical Genetics and Genomics residency at Stanford University. Prior to beginning my medical genetics residency, I completed an internship in Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, a tertiary care and academic medical center with a diverse patient population.

My interest in medical genetics arose largely from working with a research group focused on the intersection of ethics, law, and public policy within genetics during my summers in college. This research experience was funded through the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and impressed upon me the value of early exposure and mentorship. After graduating from college, I worked as a program analyst at the NHGRI where my primary role was to support the early development of the Clinical Genome Research program (ClinGen). I was excited to contribute to a large-scale research program that is enabling genetic information to benefit the health of many, but I found myself interested in individual patient care as well, which eventually prompted my application to medical school. During medical school, I worked to strengthen my school's advising structure and enjoyed sharing my interest in medical genetics with my classmates, who were often unaware such a specialty even existed. Going forward, I aim to increase awareness of the various training options within the field by working with national leaders to develop recruitment pathways and additional mentoring programs for students at all stages of learning. After residency, I look forward to contributing to a career involving clinical care, medical education, and clinical research.
