University Of California Santa Cruz
Colette Felton is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Santa Cruz in the Angela Brooks lab. She primarily develops tools to work with long-read sequencing data to better understand gene alterations in cancer. Her PhD work focused on identifying alternative splicing of gene fusions in CLL and Osteosarcoma, as well as correlating changes in chromatin accessibility with changes in RNA processing. She is currently using long read RNA sequencing to integrate variant and isoform detection for the functional prediction of cancer-related alterations. She is particularly interested in implementing these tools to identify mechanisms of drug resistance in lung cancer.
