Deborah Fisher

Dr. Fisher is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University. During her 35-year career, Dr. Fisher has taught undergraduate pediatric nursing, published on pediatric pain and palliative care topics, participated in the development of an online pediatric pain module, developed the PANDA Prep Curriculum, and continues her clinical practice. She serves as a nurse practitioner on the PANDA palliative care team at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Regionally, she served on the Alliance Kids of the Maryland Alliance of Hospices as co-chair of the education committee. Nationally, Dr. Fisher is a member of the NHPCO and serves on the Pediatric Advisory Council and has been an active member of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association and the Patient Quality of Life Coalition. In 2018, Dr. Fisher was selected as a Cambia Sojourns Scholar and has relished the opportunity to continue her research focus on increasing access to pediatric hospice through empowering adult hospice nurses to care for the pediatric patient.
