PhD Candidate, University of British Columbia
I am a dedicated PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia, specializing in the field of Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology from Iran University of Medical Science. Following my graduation, I gained three years of valuable experience in a clinical laboratory, with a focus on molecular diagnostics.
Motivated by a passion for research, I moved to Canada to pursue graduate studies, and completed my Master's degree in Cancer Biology from the University of Manitoba in 2017. Subsequently, I enhanced my expertise by contributing as a Research Assistant at both the University of Manitoba and the University of British Columbia for one year post-graduation.
Currently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the University of British Columbia, conducting groundbreaking research in the laboratory of Dr. Huntsman. My doctoral project involves the modeling of Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer through the utilization of organoid culture techniques and single-cell RNA sequencing and single cell ATAC-sequencing from normal human endometrium tissue. This multifaceted journey has equipped me with a comprehensive skill set, merging theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience in molecular diagnostics and cancer biology.
