Holly Peay, PhD, MS, CGC is a Senior Research Scientist at RTI International. She received her BA from University of Virginia in Biomedical Ethics, her MS in Genetic Counseling from University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and her PhD in Medicine from Leiden University in the Netherlands. Dr. Peay's primary research focus is the ethical integration of new technologies into research, clinical, and public health settings. Dr. Peay is the Director of RTI's Early Check Program and has led a major expansion. Starting in September 2023, the Early Check Sequencing study offers newborn screening for two large panels of single-gene conditions and genetic risk for type 1 diabetes. In addition to directing Early Check, Dr. Peay leads patient preference, empirical ethics, psychosocial intervention, and community engagement studies.
