James Tabery

Professor Philosophy and Internal Medicine, University of Utah
Jim Tabery, PhD MA, is a professor in the Department of Philosophy and a member of the Center for Medical Ethics, Arts, and the Humanities at the University of Utah. His is also one of the PIs of the University of Utah's Utah Center for Excellence in ELSI Research, funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute. His research focuses on the history, philosophy, and ethics of medical genetics. His first book, _Beyond Versus: The Struggle to Understand the Interaction of Nature and Nurture_, was published by MIT Press in 2014. His second book, on the history of the rise of personalized/precision medicine since the Human Genome Project, will be published by Knopf in summer 2023.
