Dr Jessica Gold is an Assistant Professor in the department of clinical genetics and metabolism at Northwell Health where clinical focus is providing optimal care for adults with inherited metabolic disorders. Dr Gold attended the MD/PhD program at Thomas Jefferson University. She completed an internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Chicago where she became passionate about healthcare transition for adolescents and young adults with complex disease of childhood onset. Dr Gold then pursued training in Clinical Genetics and Medical Biochemical Genetics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Her research focuses on improving clinical outcomes and healthcare delivery for adults with rare diseases. She recently completed a study funded by the Orphan Disease Center on the impact of executive function on quality of life, independent living skills, and medical autonomy for adults with maple syrup urine disease. Dr Gold is excited about this opportunity to talk about age- and developmentally-appropriate care for women with inherited disorders.
