Leor Friedman is a second-year genetic counseling graduate student at Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ. Originally from San Francisco, CA, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA. Following graduation, Leor enjoyed a 12-year career as an exotic animal trainer and educator at multiple facilities, eventually becoming the inaugural Animal Training Manager for a new aquarium in Arizona. During this time, he honed skills in communication, behavior analysis, and personalized education—critical assets for supporting patients as they navigate complex genetic information.

Leor's accomplishments include multiple Employee of the Year awards in his previous roles and serving as an adjunct professor of Psychology at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. To prepare for graduate studies, he worked as a genetic counseling assistant at Mayo Clinic Arizona and as a crisis counseling supervisor at IMAlive.org.

Leor's professional interests in genetic counseling center on complex prenatal cases, with a specific passion for helping families transition from prenatal genetic diagnoses to pediatric care. With a deep understanding of science and a commitment to compassionate care, Leor is dedicated to empowering individuals and families through their unique genetic journeys.
