Linda Jeng

Associate Director for Bioinformatics, FDA
Linda Jeng earned her MD and PhD in cell and molecular biology at the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed a combined pediatrics and medical genetics residency at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and the University Hospitals of Cleveland and a fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Case Western Reserve University. Over the next fifteen years, she directed clinical molecular genetics laboratories at Case Western Reserve University, the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Dr. Jeng joined the FDA in 2018 as a medical officer in the Division of Gastroenterology and Inborn Errors Products. She then served as a clinical team leader for three years in the Division of Rare Disease and Medical Genetics (DRDMG). She is currently an Associate Director for Biomedical Informatics on the Biomedical Informatics and Regulatory Review Science (BIRRS) team in the Office of Drug Evaluation Science. She provides critical subject matter expertise on informatics and data analyses to DRDMG and contributes to many BIRRS initiatives within the Office of New Drugs, including the FDA Medical Queries (FMQs) and the Standard Safety Tables and Figures.
