University of Utah School of Medicine - ARUP Laboratories
Dr. Lucilla Pizzo is a Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellow at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP laboratories. Her doctoral work at Penn State University focused on the genomic basis of phenotypic heterogeneity of recurrent copy-number variants associated with neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Pizzo is a Fulbright Scholar and was a semifinalist of the Charles J. Epstein Trainee Award for Excellence in Human Genetics Research from the American Society of Human Genetics, was nominated by Penn State in the national pool for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute pre-doctoral award, and has 13 publications in the human genetics field. Her long-term career goal is to establish and apply novel paradigms in clinical genomics to capture the effect of genetic background towards variable manifestation of disease towards a comprehensive genomic approach in healthcare.
