Maren T Scheuner, MD, MPH is an internist and clinical geneticist. She is the Chief of Genomic Medicine for seven health care systems in California, Nevada and the Pacific Islands. Dr. Scheuner is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology-Oncology and Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Medical Genetics at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.

Dr. Scheuner is a health services and implementation science investigator. Her research activities focus on the integration of genetic services and genetic testing applications into clinical practice. Areas of focus include: care coordination for genomic medicine; delivery models for clinical genetic services; outcomes of precision medicine and their value; clinical validity and utility of family history tools for risk assessment and disease prevention; genetic testing technologies and communication processes between the laboratory and ordering provider; and the intersection of health information technology and genomic medicine.

Dr. Scheuner is a founding fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and has served on multiple committees and special interest groups. From 2013-2019, she served on the Board of Directors and was Vice President for Clinical Genetics. Since 2003, she has served as the ACMG representative to the national Blue Cross Blue Shield Association's (BCBSA) Medical Advisory Panel for their Technology Evaluation Center (now Evidence Street), and since 2014, she has served served on the editorial board as the Health Services and Implementation Research Editor for ACMG's journal, Genetics in Medicine.
