Doctor-Resident in Clinical Genetics
Marija Jurcenko is Doctor- Resident in Medical Genetics in Medical Genetics and Prenatal Diagnostics clinic at Children's Clinical university Hospital, Riga, Latvia. During her residency she was able to have honorable practice in the Centre of Clinical Genetics, Tartu University Hospital, Tartu, Estonia and French National Reference Center for Inherited Metabolic Diseases (MAMEA), Hôpital Necker-Enfants malades, Paris, France.
She has experience working in bioinformaticians teams analyzing and interpreting disease-causing variants, doing systematic reviews for Latvian Genome Project and Scientific Laboratory of Molecular Genetics. She has experience working as Lecturer in the Department of Biology and Microbiology, RSU, preparing video lectures and seminars for fifth– and sixth– year medical students. She has experience working in multidisciplinary teams and European Reference Network (ERN–ITHACA), preparing diagnostic algorithms (hypoglycemia, glutaric acidemia type 1, etc), reporting cases reports, genetic diagnostic set ups, publishing genotype and phenotype overview for genes causative variants.

Currently Marija Jurcenko is doing outpatient and inpatient visits for patients of any age with suspected genetic disorders.
