Matthew Lebo
Lab for Molecular Medicine, Mass General Brigham
Dr. Lebo is the Chief Laboratory Director of the Laboratory for Molecular Medicine (LMM), a CLIA-certified molecular diagnostics laboratory, and the Director of Bioinformatics at Mass General Brigham Personalized Medicine. He is also an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School at an Associate Member of the Broad Institute. His work focuses on driving forward the routine use of genomics and computational biology in translational and clinical applications, especially in the use of genomic screening in unselected populations. He has helped lead multiple efforts focused on clinical sequencing, variant interpretation, and return of results to patients using exome and genome sequencing, including in healthy and sick adults (MedSeq), healthy and sick newborns (BabySeq), active armed forces members (MilSeq), population health studies (PopSeq) and large biobank cohorts (eMERGE, MGB Biobank). Recent work has focused on expanding the utility of clinical genomics, including developing a framework for the interpretation of risk alleles and developing clinical applications of polygenic risk scores.
