Director of Public Policy, American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics
Dr. Michelle McClure joined the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) as the Public Policy Director in March 2018. She works closely with the ACMG Board of Directors and various committees of the College to manage ACMG's public policy and advocacy efforts including engagement with members of the U.S. Congress, federal agencies, state governments, and a variety of provider, laboratory, and patient stakeholders with shared interests. Prior to joining the ACMG, Dr. McClure worked as a biologist at the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research doing regulatory policy development and product reviews. She received her PhD in genetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where her research focused on cystic fibrosis and the contribution of post-translational modifications to ion channel trafficking and function.
