Natasha Petry, PharmD, MPH, BCACP, is an Associate Professor of Practice at North Dakota State University (NDSU), and a Pharmacogenetics Clinical Pharmacist at Sanford Health, both in Fargo, ND. She also serves as the Residency Program Director for Sanford Health Imagenetics' Post-graduate Year 2 Clinical Pharmacogenomics Residency program. She precepts pharmacy students, residents, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellows. She completed a B.S. in Microbiology, Pharm.D., and MPH all from NDSU in Fargo. Dr. Petry completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Trinity Health in Minot, ND. She is licensed to practice pharmacy in ND, MN, WI and IN and is a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist. Dr. Petry's practice and research interests include the implementation of pharmacogenomics (PGx), the use of pre-emptive genetic tests as population screening tools, and PGx educational and training initiatives. She participated in the NIH-funded Implementing GeNomics In practice (IGNITE) network and is also a co-investigator on the NIH funded ADOPT PGx - A Depression and Opioid Pragmatic Trial in Pharmacogenetics. Dr. Petry was honored as the 2020 and 2023 Faculty Preceptor of the Year for NDSU School of Pharmacy. She has received the North Dakota Society for Health-System Pharmacists Pharmacy Practice Literature Award twice, in 2020 and 2022. She was the 2023 recipient of the NDSU College of Health Professions Dean's Award for Excellence in Research. She has been working in the area of pharmacogenomics since 2014. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and attending sporting events.
