Shagun Kaur grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, and went on to complete her medical education at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. She completed her combined pediatric - medical genetics and pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital of Michigan, where she developed an interest in medical education. Dr. Kaur received an ACMG Foundation Award in 2020 for her abstract "Genetics Primary Care Clinic Initiated by Combined Pediatric-Medical Genetics and Genomics Residents: A Potential National Model" Following residency she went on to complete her medical biochemical genetics fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She is now clinical and biochemical geneticist at Phoenix Children's with a specific interest in small molecule disorders and congenital disorders of glycosylation. Dr. Kaur is also a member of the ACMG Social, Ethical, and Legal Issues committee.
