Clinical Director, National Cancer Institute
Dr. Savage is the Director of the Clinical Genetics Branch and Clinical Director of the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) where she leads clinical, genetic, and epidemiologic studies of individuals and families at high risk of cancer, including those with Telomere Biology Disorders, Fanconi Anemia, and Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. She earned an MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, completed residency in Pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, DC, and fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the National Cancer Institute and Johns Hopkins University. Her comprehensive research approach seeks to discover the causes of cancer while also improving lives of patients with complex cancer-prone disorders.
