Director of Genetic Counselling, University of Toronto
Stacy Hewson is the Director of Genetic Counselling at the Hospital for Sick Children, and the Program Director of the Master of Science program in Genetic Counselling at the University of Toronto. She received her Master of Science degree in Genetic Counselling from McGill University in 1998 and a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from McGill in 1996. She is certified by both the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors and the American Board of Genetic Counseling. She has been actively involved in teaching genetic counselling students at the University of Toronto for over 20 years and became the program director in 2020. She has broad interprofessional experience at SickKids within clinical genetics, metabolic genetics, newborn screening, neurology and cardiology.
