University Hospital of Bonn
Tzung-Chien Hsieh, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Genomic Statistics and Bioinformatics at the University Hospital of Bonn in Germany. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science at the National Taiwan University, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Bonn in 2022. His main research focuses on deep learning for medical image analysis, especially frontal image analysis for rare genetic disorders. He developed, GestaltMatcher, which is a deep learning framework to diagnose rare genetic disorders by analyzing patient's frontal image. Moreover, he built a medical imaging database for rare disorders with open access to the scientific researcher, GestaltMatcher Database, which contains more than 11,000 medical images with 730 rare disorders. Moving forward, he is working on establishing global collaboration for the medical imaging database to facilitate the development of the next-generation phenotyping approach for rare disorders.
