Research Scientist/Genome Analyst
Zeid Hamadeh resides in Vancouver, British Columbia where he works as a Lab Scientist/Genome Analyst in the Cytogenomics Department at Vancouver General Hospital and a Clinical Instructor with the University of British Columbia. His work focuses on clinically validating novel genetic technologies, such as Optical Genome Mapping, for routine clinical testing of hematological malignancies. Prior to this, he graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Doctor of Philosophy in Genome Science and Technology where he studied the role of DNA repair in hereditary forms of cancer using single-cell whole-genome sequencing techniques. Zeid's undergraduate education was completed at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with honours in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences. He is passionate about cancer genomics, bioinformatics and science communication.
