
Hanna Faghfoury

Dr. Faghfoury is a Clinical and Biochemical Geneticist at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada. Her practice specializes in Adult Clinical and Metabolic Genetics, with a focus on transitional and reproductive care of adults with Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD). Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Faghfoury is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She served as the Program Director for both the Medical Genetics and Genomics Residency and the Clinical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship programs from 2016 to 2024. She currently chairs the specialty committee for the newly established Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) subspecialties in Adult and Pediatric Inherited Metabolic Disease Medicine. Additionally, she leads the Ontario Health IMD expert group, where she is tasked to deliver recommendations on IMD care provision and planning to to the Ministry of Health of Ontario. Dr. Faghfoury earned her BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa and her MD from McGill University. She completed her residency in Medical Genetics and a fellowship in Clinical Biochemical Genetics at the University of Toronto.
