I am Indhu Shree Rajan Babu, a Research Associate and CIHR REDI Early Career Transition Awardee in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). My research centers on genomic data analysis and developing computational methods for diagnosing rare genetic disorders. I specialize in the analysis of complex genetic variants, such as short tandem repeat (STR) expansions, and studying their implications in neurodevelopmental disorders. Currently, I lead initiatives to advance genetic tests and computational methods for repeat expansion disorders, supported by my CIHR REDI Award. My long-term goal is to enhance diagnostic platforms and computational techniques, translating technological advancements into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.
