Katarzyna Thompson

Assistant Professor, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis
Katarzyna Thompson (Polonis) serves as the Associate Medical Director in the Clinical Genomic Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, where she holds the additional position of Assistant Professor of Pathology and Immunology. She is board-certified in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics by the ABMGG. Dr. Thompson earned her PhD in medical biology from the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland. Following this, she pursued a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and later engaged in the Biomarker Discovery Program at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). Next, she completed her Laboratory Genetics and Genomic training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2022.
Dr. Thompson is an active member of the ACMG Annual Meeting Planning Committee, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field. Driven by academic curiosity, her interests encompass all aspects of clinical genetic and genomic testing, with a focus on patients affected by congenital and hematologic diseases.
