Katarzyna Thompson (Polonis) is an Associate Medical Director in the Clinical Genomic Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She is board-certified in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. She also holds the position of Assistant Professor of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Thompson obtained her PhD in medical biology from the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland. She subsequently completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and later in the Biomarker Discovery Program at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). She completed her Laboratory Genetics and Genomic training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2022.
Dr. Thompson currently serves as a member of the ACMG Annual Meeting Planning Committee. Her academic interests include all aspects of clinical genetic and genomic testing for patients with congenital and hematologic diseases.
