Lauren Maucere

Supervisor of Curriculum and Outreach, California School for the Deaf, Riverside
Lauren Maucere is the Curriculum & Outreach Supervisor at the California School for the Deaf, Riverside (CSDR). She brings a wealth of experience in Deaf education, having previously served as Assistant Principal at Marlton School within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), as well as Program Specialist for Deaf Education. Over the years, she has held leadership roles as a high school department chair, United Teachers of LA chapter co-chair, and is currently a part of the Equity in Deaf Education (EDE) group, demonstrating her deep commitment to educational equity.

Lauren served as President of California Educators of the Deaf (CAL-ED) and was an active member of the National Center on Deafness (NCOD) task force at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Her advocacy and expertise have been sought by organizations such as Disney, where she contributed to the Baby Einstein ASL video, the National Deaf Center (NDC), where she served on a task force dedicated to improving postsecondary outcomes for Deaf students and as an advisor to the award-winning documentary Through Your Child's Eyes: American Sign Language.

Her leadership extends to keynote presentations at prestigious events, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Education Summit, the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD), and the National Deaf Education Conference (NDEC). She also co-hosted a statewide convening on Deaf Education in partnership with the Gates Foundation, contributing to discussions on best practices and policy advancements.

Lauren holds dual master's degrees—an M.A. in Special Education from CSUN and an M.A. in Educational Leadership & Administration from California Lutheran University.
