Dr. Lisa Schimmenti is a clinical geneticist and consultant in the Department of Clinical Genomics at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Schimmenti completed her undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins and her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has been board-certified for nearly thirty years. Her research efforts have been funded by the NIH and March of Dimes. Her clinical and research focus is on undiagnosed and rare disease in patients who have vision and hearing loss. She has been recognized for her educational contributions and is the co-PI and of the Medical Scientist Training Program T32 at the Mayo Clinic College of Biomedical Sciences. She gets up every morning being grateful to be a geneticist and excited to share this joy with the next generation of learners.
