Sheri Poskanzer
Geneticist
Dr. Sheri Anne Poskanzer is a Clinical and Biochemical Geneticist at St. Luke's Health System in Boise, Idaho. In her current role, she cares for children and adults with a broad variety of general genetic and metabolic diagnoses in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida and attended medical school at Florida State University. She went on to complete the combined Pediatrics and Medical Genetics residencies at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, followed by the Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital. She maintains board certifications in Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Medical Biochemical Genetics, and General Pediatrics.
Dr. Poskanzer is currently serving in her fourth year as a member of the ACMG Therapeutics Committee. During her time on the committee, she has helped create the Therapeutics Bulletin, a newer recurring ACMG publication in Genetics in Medicine Open, and continues to lead development of new editions. Dr. Poskanzer also has a strong interest in newborn screening and serves on the Idaho Newborn Screening Advisory Committee.
Outside of Genetics, Dr. Poskanzer enjoys spending time with her family, long distance trail running, and amateur vegan baking. Having previously worked for and remaining an enthusiastic fan of the Mouse, she greatly appreciates a day at Walt Disney World when the opportunity arises.
