Teddy Drivas, MD, PhD is a Physician-Scientist and Clinical Geneticist at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics and the Assistant Director of Scientific Outreach for the Penn Medicine BioBank. Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Teddy splits his time 80/20 between research and clinical care. In the clinic, he focuses on the genetic evaluation of adults with known or suspected genetic conditions and is a dedicated advocate for expanding access to genetic testing in adult populations and combating disparities in genetic medicine.  His research bridges computational and wet-lab approaches, using graph theory and large-scale informatic analyses to identify genetic pathways that converge on fundamental cellular processes, with a particular focus on the primary cilium and its involvement in both rare syndromic and common complex disease. On the translational side, his work aims to improve the implementation and effectiveness of genetic testing in adult populations. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Teddy is committed to fostering an inclusive environment in genetics and genomics. He looks forward to connecting with trainees about applying genetics to the adult population, physician-scientist pathways, and mentorship and identity in the genetics and genomics space.
