Accessibility at the Minneapolis Convention Center

The Minneapolis Convention Center is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience for all visitors. The building is designed to support guests with a wide range of accessibility needs, including mobility, vision, hearing, and sensory considerations. The facility includes curbside drop-off locations along 2nd Ave., automatic entrances and parking ramp doors, power-assist doors, accessible elevators and restrooms, and wheelchair seating in event spaces. Additional accessibility features include service animal accommodations, braille and high-contrast signage, assistive technology access, mobility equipment rentals, lactation lounges, and tools such as the Aira visual interpreting service for guests who are blind or low-vision.

Mobility

Mobility Equipment
For your convenience, mobility equipment is available for rent at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We have both power-operated vehicles (scooters) and manual wheelchairs, which may be rented at the Visitor Information Center located on the ground floor at the main entrance. Currently, pre-registration is not  available. Equipment should be returned to the Visitor Information Center each day.
Payments: Visa, Mastercard or Discover cards ONLY.
Rates: Scooter $50/day; Wheelchair $20/day

Food Restrictions and Allergies

We ensure all ACMG events offer vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free food options. Food will be labelled, indicating ingredients and/or accommodations.

Hearing

Closed captioning is provided for all ACMG sponsored scientific sessions, through the mobile app. Instructions for access will be provided in the session rooms.

Neurodiversity

Quiet Room
The Quiet Room is a designated space to accommodate neurodiverse attendees who need to take a break from the noise of the meeting. This is not a place to take phone calls, work or engage in conversation.
