In any large metropolitan area, there are crime problems, so use common sense

• Remove your badge prior to exiting the hotel or Convention Center.
• Don't walk more than a well-lighted block or so away from the hotel after dark alone. Take a cab or walk with a group.
• Always let someone know where you are going to be.
• Use caution even during daylight hours.  Look like you know where you are going.
• Inform the Meetings Team or hotel security of any problems or incidents you may encounter as soon as possible.
• Maintain awareness of your surroundings.
• Do not give your hotel room number out to any stranger. Ask the front desk to write the number down for you instead of saying it aloud.
